Not quite Spanish weather but sunny weekend ahead for Northumberland

After temperatures in the county soared to 13C earlier in the week, making it hotter than Madrid and Barcelona, forecasters say weekend temperatures will drop back to 11C.
But those looking forward to their weekend exercise shouldn’t be disheartened as the sunshine looks set to continue, with a bright start on Saturday, February 27.

Hide AdIt will be a clear and sunny morning, although there is expected to be a mix of sunshine and clouds in the afternoon.
Overnight will also be dry and clear with temperatures of around 5C.
It will be a sunny start again on Sunday, February 28 but by the afternoon the cloud cover will return and temperatures will fall slightly.
Highs on Sunday will be around 9C but this will drop to 4C by the evening.

Hide AdLooking ahead to the start of the week, the Met Office predicts it will largely be cloudy on Monday, March 1 and Tuesday, March 2 – meaning that people should make the most of the weekend’s sunny spells.
Temperatures are also expected to drop, with highs of 8C on Monday and just 6C on Tuesday, a far cry from the unseasonably warm weather of the previous week.
In a statement online, the Met Office said: "It will often be cloudy, especially along the coast where patchy mist and fog could arrive, but still some sunny spells will develop, particularly inland.
"Temperatures remaining near average.”
