Belford’s own Fred Sharples took inspiration from ‘Captain Tom,’ who raised millions for charity during lockdown, when he completed his own garden walk.
Fred, 74, who lives in assisted living at South Meadows, did laps of his garden and raised £200, which was presented to Val Kelly, the manager at Bell View Day Care, where he has been attending for the past four years.A Bell View spokesman said Fred loves attending and meeting his friends and took inspiration for his walk from Captain Sir Tom Moore.
