Alnwick museum shortlisted for award as it looks towards autumn reopening

It has been shortlisted for the prestigious Museums & Heritage Awards 2020 for its popular ‘100 Years of Fashion’ exhibition of 2019.
The award category is ‘running an exhibition on a limited budget’ which is one of the many skills that the dedicated team of volunteers has in abundance.

Hide AdJean Humphrys, chairman of the trustees said: “It’s a great accolade and a strong recognition of the role played by our volunteers. Their hard work and ingenuity enable Bailiffgate to be recognised in this international arena.”
Bailiffgate is currently putting all the measures in place to be Covid safe when it reopens on September 1.
Established in 2002 in a Grade 2 listed former church, Bailiffgate is a hub for community activity and hosts permanent groups such as two local history societies, creative writing groups and choirs as well as community events.
