Lifeboat sent out after fishing vessel runs into problems
The all-weather lifeboat from Amble was launched yesterday evening after a local fishing vessel encountered a mechanical failure.
The vessel had a problem with its engine in the Druridge Bay area and it contacted the coastguard after laying anchor to avoid drifting. Two people were on board.
It was a couple of miles offshore and so the Amble station was contacted. The lifeboat was launched at about 7.55pm and it reached the vessel at 8.20pm.

Escorted by the lifeboat, it reached Amble at 9.45pm.
