Seven arrests as police launch murder investigation in Northumberland town following man's death

A 34-year-old man was assaulted outside an address at Croften Street, Blyth, at around 1.15pm on Wednesday, April 29.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Hide AdHe died as a result of the injuries he suffered in the attack on Thursday, May 30, Northumbria Police say.
To date, officers have arrested seven men in connection with the incident.
Four remain in police custody and are assisting detectives with their inquiries, while three have been released on bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Ed Small said: "We are committed to determining the circumstances behind this incident which has sadly resulted in the death of a man.

Hide Ad“Our thoughts are with his family at this devastating time and they are being supported by specialist family liaison officers as they come to terms with their loss.
“A team of experienced detectives are carrying out an investigation into this incident as we look to ensure anyone responsible is brought to justice.
"We are not treating this as a random attack and believe all those involved were known to each other. Officers will remain in the area to carry out inquiries and offer any reassurance to the public.”
