County programme of surface dressing

Northumberland County Council is carrying out a programme of surface dressing to around 389,000 square metres on all categories of roads.

Preparatory work has already begun and the project will take place until August.

Among the areas to be dressed is almost 2km of the Alnwick to Shilbottle road, from Cawledge Business Park to the T-junction, and a similar length of the B1339 North End from the junction in Lesbury village.

Meanwhile, the council is also planning to refurbish the Lion Bridge in Alnwick with work likely to take eight to 10 weeks.
