“As we operate a referral system, we wish to thank the organisations in social care that continually monitor the pulse of Amble and the surrounding area, to refer those families in need to the Amble Food Bank.”
It has also set up a Just Giving page which has received nearly £1,500 towards its £5,000 target.
Its JustGiving page states: ‘During this difficult time we will be working with local businesses and community groups to ensure that anyone with a referral can receive a food parcel - just as we have over the past years.

‘These are things we cannot store and so cannot be donated by the public like the much appreciated ambient foods we receive so regularly.
‘Please help us to help those in need in Amble and surrounding areas during these challenging times.’
